WINTER HARBOR — Sgt. Philip Sargent assisted the Winter Harbor Fire Department on Dec. 1 at a medical call on Sargent Street.
A man was reported to be unconscious but was conscious when Sargent arrived.
Sargent gave the patient’s information to emergency medical responders when they arrived and remained on the scene until his assistance was no longer needed.
On Dec. 6, Officer Eli Brown assisted Schoodic EMS at a medical call on Newman Street.
Officer Ken Schuurman assisted the Maine State Police with a call on Tunk Lake Road on Dec. 9 after getting a report that a woman was hysterical and wanting help. Police arrived and were able to get her to calm down. Police said it appeared she was having a manic episode.
Schuurman contacted the woman’s family to notify them.
Animal issue
Brown received a report that a cat had bitten a Main Street resident and her husband on Dec. 13. Brown retrieved the cat and took it to Ellsworth Animal Clinic for observation. The couple who had been bitten were advised to speak with their doctor. A Winter Harbor resident claimed the cat and was advised of the 10-day quarantine observation.
