Warnings issued in festival fracas

WINTER HARBOR A report of a possible fight brought officers from both Winter Harbor and Gouldsboro police departments to the Winter Harbor Lobster Festival Aug. 10.

A bystander told police two women had been yelling at each other on the Winter Harbor docks. One of them was reportedly trying to get her boyfriend to fight the other woman’s boyfriend.

Police issued warnings for disorderly conduct and told everyone involved they would be arrested if the incident continued. They went their separate ways without further incident, police said.

In a separate incident Aug. 2, police were called to Taft Point Road for a report of a fight in progress. Police said the two men were fighting over one of them wanting a ride from the other.

Michael Daniel, 28, of Gouldsboro was treated for a cut over his eye and taken to Hancock County Jail on a disorderly conduct charge.

Harassment

Police investigated a report of harassment Aug. 10 that had reportedly started in Gouldsboro and ended in Winter Harbor. Both parties were warned. Gouldsboro police assisted.

Road hazard

While on patrol Aug. 4, an officer found a trailer parked in the travel lane on Grindstone Avenue.

The officer marked it with cones and contacted the owner. The case has been referred to Maine State Police Commercial Vehicles Enforcement.
