Winter Harbor Police log week of Dec. 5

WINTER HARBOR — Winter Harbor police assisted Gouldsboro in responding Nov. 23 to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked near the storage units on Route 1 in Gouldsboro.

An allegedly impaired 17-year-old had been behind the wheel. He was taken to Hancock County Jail for intoxilizer tests, summoned on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant and released to his parents.


As the result of a traffic stop Nov. 27, police charged John England, 60, of Winter Harbor with operating under the influence.

On Nov. 22, Misty Walker, 55, of Gouldsboro was arrested on a warrant and taken to Hancock County Jail.

Barking dogs

Police responded Nov. 18 to a barking dog complaint on Jordan Harbor Road. The complainant said the neighbor’s dogs bark from early morning until early evening. Police spoke with the dog owners and gave them a copy of the town’s barking dog ordinance. The owners said they would take care of it.

Deer collision

On Nov. 15, an officer on patrol discovered a vehicle on South Gouldsboro Road that had been struck by a deer that had attempted to jump over the car. The deer was seriously injured and had to be put down.

Shots fired

Officers from Winter Harbor and Gouldsboro responded to a Nov. 16 request from the Maine Warden Service to check on a report of shots fired near a residence in Gouldsboro. Officers found the people involved and learned that a youth among them had shot a deer near the residence. The case was turned over to the Warden Service for further investigation.
