Two men escape sinking truck on Silver Lake

BUCKSPORT — Two men were able to escape from a pickup truck after it went through the ice on Silver Lake last week.

Around 8 p.m. on Friday, a person called police to report that a Toyota Tundra had gone through the ice.

Police Chief Sean Geagan said 58-year-old Frank Johnson of Bucksport was operating the vehicle at the time, and that both Johnson and his passenger were able to get out safely and without injury.

The vehicle was removed from the lake the next day.
