Two arrested in child porn case

ELLSWORTH — The Maine State Police arrested an Orland man and a Cherryfield woman in connection with a child pornography case this week.

On Monday, Detective Taylor Bagley of the Internet Crimes Against Children Division of the Maine Computer Crimes Task Force arrested Robert Rosenbaum, 63, of Orland on one count each of dissemination of sexually explicit material of children under age 12, possession of sexually explicit material of minors under age 12 and criminal forfeiture of property.

“He is alleged to have sent the child porn to someone he was chatting with online,” said District Attorney Matt Foster. “I don’t believe that any of the images alleged to be CP [child porn] were images of local children.”

On Tuesday, police arrested Rosenbaum’s co-defendant, Stacy L. Turcotte, 47, of Cherryfield, on two counts each of dissemination of sexually explicit material of children under age 12 and possession of sexually explicit material of minors under age 12 as well as one count of criminal forfeiture of property.

The criminal forfeiture of property charges stem from computers seized by police.

Rosenbaum is free on bail.

Foster said Rosenbaum’s bail has been set at $1,500 cash, with conditions stipulating no use or possession of devices capable of connecting to the internet and no contact with any victims.

As of Wednesday morning, Turcotte was still in the Hancock County Jail and had not yet had her bail hearing.
