Three injured in crash on Route 1A

ELLSWORTH — Three local residents were injured on Wednesday morning in a crash on Route 1A just before noon, according to the Ellsworth Police Department.

Jessica Rollerson, 45, of Castine was heading north toward Bangor when the car she was driving ran into the side of a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Kiana Maddocks-Wilbur of Ellsworth.

Maddocks-Wilbur had been attempting to turn left from North Street onto Route 1A.

Both drivers were taken to Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

A passenger in the vehicle driven by Maddocks-Wilbur also was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

All occupants were wearing seat belts, said police. Both cars were totaled.

The Ellsworth police and fire departments along with Northern Light Medical Transport and Maine State Police responded to the scene.
