Supermarket Robber Gets Prison Time



ELLSWORTH — A Tremont man who attempted to rob the pharmacy at Shaw’s Supermarket in Ellsworth earlier this year will spend 18 months in prison.

Shaun Parsons, 34, pleaded guilty Nov. 14 in Hancock County Superior Court to one count of robbery and two counts of theft, according to his attorney, Steven Juskewitch. A grand jury indicted him on those charges in August.

Parsons was sentenced to eight years in prison, with all but 18 months suspended for the robbery charge. He additionally was ordered to serve six months for each of the theft charges. Those sentences are to be served concurrently with the robbery sentence.

Upon his release from prison, Parsons is to serve three years probation.
