Prospect man indicted on charges related to police chase

ELLSWORTH — A Prospect man who allegedly led Bucksport police on a chase last November was indicted by a Hancock County grand jury June 6.

The grand jury indicted Samuel Thompson, 20, on charges of eluding an officer, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant, criminal speeding, driving to endanger, permitting unlawful use, leaving the scene of an accident, operating beyond license restrictions and criminal mischief in connection to the incident, which occurred Nov. 17, 2018.

Officer Matt Schmidt had pursued the car on side streets after the chase began on Seminary Road. The car hit at least one parked car and went off the road a couple of times, causing damage to lawns and other property, police said.

The following also were indicted:

  • Levi Ashley, 30, Orono, operating after revocation Nov. 18, 2018, in Ellsworth.
  • Richard Drost, 45, Sullivan, unlawful drug trafficking Aug. 24, 2018, in Franklin.
  • Ashley Gilbert, 22, Bucksport, domestic violence assault with a dangerous weapon, domestic violence assault, criminal mischief and violating conditions of release Aug. 16, 2018, in Bucksport.
  • Mallory Gommo, 21, Brooklin, two counts theft by unauthorized taking or transfer Oct. 28, 2018, in Ellsworth.
  • David Hudson, 34, Hancock, one count negotiating a worthless instrument Nov. 5, 2018, in Gouldsboro.
  • Tiffany Koopman, 31, Lamoine, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer Nov. 1, 2017, and Feb. 28, 2019, in Tremont.
  • John Ladd, 55, Waldoboro, aggravated drug trafficking April 13 in Bucksport.
  • Ethan Moon, 27, Castine, operating after revocation Feb. 23 in Castine.
  • Sean Manning, 53, Sullivan, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, criminal threatening, terrorizing and disorderly conduct Nov. 16, 2018, in Sullivan.
  • Megan Patten, 28, Bucksport, unlawful operation of a methamphetamine laboratory Jan. 6 in Bucksport.
  • Christopher Thomas, 36, Glenburn, operating after revocation, unlawful drug possession March 16 in Southwest Harbor.
  • Nicole Thomas, 35, Bucksport, domestic violence reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and domestic violence assault Jan. 10 in Bucksport.
