Porn Sentence imposed

BANGOR — A former Cranberry Isles resident and teacher was sentenced Tuesday in U.S District Court to serve 16 years in prison after pleading guilty to the production of child pornography.

Chief Justice John Woodcock, Jr. also ordered Rob Mocarsky, 41, of Jackman, to serve 10 years of probation following his release. Mr. Mocarsky pleaded guilty to charges involving four children in June.

He came to the attention of law enforcement authorities in December of 2010, when a parent of one of his kindergarten students in Jackman notified police that he had taken photos of her daughter wearing a French maid costume. Subsequently, his school and personal computer equipment was seized and examined by the Maine State Police Computer Crimes Unit. Upon questioning, Mr. Mocarsky admitted to taking sexually explicit photographs of four of his kindergarten students, according to assistant U.S. attorney Stacey Neumann.

Mr. Mocarsky taught at the Islesford Elementary School from 1993 to 1995.
