Maine State Police: Women Warned for Misuse of Food Stamps

ELLSWORTH — Maine State Police Trooper Dan Ryan warned two women who bought items with food stamps at Tradewinds Marketplace in Blue Hill then returned the items later for store credit, which they used to buy cigarettes and beer.

Amy Ciarcia, 33, Steuben, operating after suspension, operating an all-terrain vehicle on a public way.

George Fortier, 32, operating after suspension, violating conditions of release.

Chris Briggs, 45, Sullivan, assault.

Charles Wallace, 37, Steuben, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence on intoxicant and violating conditions of release.
