Maine State Police week of Feb. 27



ELLSWORTH — The Maine State Police charged three motorists with impaired driving during the past week. Two arrests occurred after motor vehicle accidents.

Trooper Dana Austin arrested Troy Cleaves, 52, of Hancock on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant after an accident in Hancock Saturday.

Troy Palmeter, 53, of Charlotte was arrested on a charge of OUI after his vehicle struck a utility pole, which snapped off on Route 214 in Charlotte Feb. 17, police reported. Trooper David Barnard handled the investigation and was assisted by Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy Tim Mace and Sgt. Greg Sawyer.

Austin arrested Cassandra Molnar, 35, of Southwest Harbor on a charge of OUI (drugs) on the Bayside Road in Ellsworth Feb. 18. Trooper Gavin Endre assisted.

Summonses

Joshua Wilbur, 34, of Franklin was summoned on a charge of operating after habitual offender revocation Saturday in Hancock.

Trooper Kim Sawyer summoned Ethan Cilley, 20, of Princeton on a charge of filing a false report. Cilley on Feb. 14 had reported criminal mischief to his truck, which did not occur, police said.

Theft

Trooper Keith York is investigating a theft of several catalytic converters from older vehicles at camps in Topsfield within the past few days.
