Maine State Police: Metal Thefts Under Investigation

ELLSWORTH — The Maine State Police are investigating a theft of metal from a Dedham business Aug. 10.


Various types of metals were taken from a trailer and two storage sheds.

Detective Alan Brown of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department assisted by processing the scene for evidence.


A Blue Hill pizza shop was broken into during the overnight hours of Aug. 12, police said. Cash was stolen.


A pickup truck was stolen from a Blue Hill residence during the overnight hours of Aug. 12.


A Brooklin man was arrested after he refused to stop for a trooper who found him traveling 87 miles per hour in a 55-mph zone on South Street in Blue Hill Aug. 13.

Philip Graceffa, 24, was arrested on charges of criminal speed, failure to stop for an officer and operating beyond his license restriction.

Graceffa allegedly pulled into a driveway then tried to flee on foot, police said. He was arrested following a brief chase.

Police said Graceffa has a conditional license stemming from a conviction for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant.

Zachary Hutchins, 18, Orland, probation violation.

Jeffrey Long, 29, Hancock, violating conditions of release.

Kirk G. Wing, 34, Orland, OUI, operating after suspension, bail violation.

Arron Larrabee, 31, Stonington, failure to report accident by quickest means.
