ELLSWORTH — The Maine State Police charged an Oklahoma woman after investigating a theft of cash at a Hancock hotel Friday.
Trooper Dana Austin summoned Amy Melson, 38, on a charge of felony theft.
Police said a man reported that $2,800 in cash had been taken from his vehicle. Trooper Gavin Endre assisted.
Troopers charged five motorists with impaired driving during the past week. One arrest occurred after someone reportedly littered from a motor vehicle on Oak Street in Ellsworth Aug. 26.
In that incident, Endre arrested Richard Leveille, 57, of Dover on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant. Police said Leveille declined to take an intoxilyzer test. Austin assisted.
Trooper Andy Foss arrested Kassandra Strout, 30, of Milbridge on a charge of OUI after a traffic stop in Sullivan Friday. The Gouldsboro Police Department assisted.
Cooper Henderson, 22, of Hancock was arrested on a charge of OUI after he crashed his vehicle in Hancock Friday.
Trooper Owen Reed arrested Ryan Grindle, 24, of Orland on a charge of OUI after a traffic stop in Penobscot Friday. Grindle declined to take an intoxilyzer test, police said.
Trooper Miles Carpenter arrested Bracy Ashby, 54, of Lubec on a charge of OUI after a crash on Route 1 in Whiting Aug. 23.
Austin summoned Richard Ryan, 23, of Franklin on charges of violating conditions of his release and operating after suspension after a traffic stop in Lamoine Friday.
A crash in Township 10 Aug. 23 led to a charge for a motorist involved, police said. Austin summoned James Robinson, 31, of Cherryfield on a charge of operating after suspension.
Zachariah McCarthy, 26, of Penobscot was summoned on a charge of operating without a license after a traffic stop in Deer Isle Aug. 25.
Austin summoned Damian Rumery, 26, of Milbridge on a charge of operating after suspension Friday.
