Maine State Police Log Week of Sept. 24



ELLSWORTH — A Sept. 14 crash in Amherst led to arrest for the motorist, who allegedly had been operating while impaired.

Maine State Police Trooper Blaine Silk arrested Norman Grindle, 51, of Amherst on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant.

More arrests

A check of an abandoned vehicle on Route 182 in Hancock Sunday led to charges for two men.

Trooper Gavin Endre arrested Michael Brunt, 26, of Steuben on a probation violation charge. Endre said Brunt was “highly intoxicated.”

Endre summoned Travis Yeaton, 36, also of Steuben, on a charge of violating conditions of his release. Yeaton also was intoxicated, the trooper said. Cpl. Chris Smith assisted.

Trooper Owen Reed arrested Ryan Williford, 33, of Blue Hill on a charge of operating without a license after a traffic stop in Blue Hill Friday.

Phone harassment

Reed is investigating a complaint of phone harassment in Deer Isle that was reported Friday. A caller left a threatening voicemail message.

Summonses

Eric Carson, 41, of Robbinston was summoned on a charge of operating after suspension Sept. 15 in Franklin.

Trooper Jeffrey Taylor summoned Nicholas Bilger, 27, of Jonesboro on a charge of operating after habitual offender revocation as a result of a seat belt violation stop in East Machias Friday.
