Maine State Police log week of Oct. 24



ELLSWORTH — A stop for a traffic violation on Route 1 in Orland Saturday led to arrest for the motorist, the Maine State Police reported.

Trooper Dana Austin arrested Dustin Powers, 25, of Verona Island on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant and speeding 30 miles or more over the posted limit.

More arrests

While investigating a burglary in Tremont Oct. 16, Trooper Gavin Endre encountered a motorist whose right to operate has been revoked.

Endre arrested Donald Murphy, 63, of Tremont on a charge of operating after revocation.

Summonses

A traffic stop on School Street in Ellsworth Oct. 14 led to a drug charge for a motorist.

Austin summoned Janelle Greenleaf, 41, of Hancock on a charge of unlawful drug possession.

On Oct. 14, Trooper Jeffrey Taylor summoned Iris Simmonds, 24, of Franklin on charges of criminal mischief and failure to report a crash. The charges stem from an investigation several weeks ago, police said.

Austin summoned James Williams, 57, of Bucksport on a charge of operating without a driver’s license Oct. 15.

On Oct. 15, Austin summoned Dustin Lawson, 29, of Milbridge on a charge of operating after suspension.
