Maine State Police Log Week of Oct. 22



ELLSWORTH — Maine State Police Trooper Dana Austin and Maine Game Warden Eric Rudolph rescued two lost hunters, one of whom had to be treated for hypothermia, in Hancock Oct. 13.

“The two hunters had gotten lost after shooting a deer,” said police. Austin located one of the men and stood by until Rudolph arrived.

Rudolph located the other lost hunter and assisted with getting him out of the woods. The hunter was checked out by an ambulance crew due to hypothermia, police said. Sgt. Jason Sattler assisted.

Campaign sign issues

Trooper Gavin Endre began investigating thefts of election signs in Trenton Oct. 15.

Trooper Miles Carpenter is investigating a complaint of a political sign being driven over in Machiasport. That incident also was reported on Oct. 15.

Theft of services

Trooper Caleb McGary is investigating a theft complaint in Orland where money was paid for services on a house and the work was not completed.  The complaint was made Saturday.

Summons

Trooper Kim Sawyer summoned Rodney Levesque, 41, of Machias on a charge of violating conditions of his release after a traffic stop in Meddybemps for speeding Oct. 14.
