Maine State Police log week of Oct. 10

ELLSWORTH — The Maine State Police charged three motorists with impaired driving during the past week.

On Saturday, a speeding stop on Front Ridge Road in Penobscot led to arrest for the motorist.

Trooper Travis Chapman arrested Wendy Lynds, 46, of Dedham on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant.

A rollover crash in Orland on Sunday led to arrest for the operator.

Trooper Caleb McGary arrested Dustin Smith, 27, of Bucksport on a charge of OUI.

Cpl. Chris Smith arrested Michael Mitchell, 40, of Hancock on a charge of OUI (drugs) after investigating a vehicle reportedly involved in two separate crashes on Route 1 in Hancock Oct. 1.

Maine Game Warden Dave Simmons assisted at the scene. Chapman assisted at the Hancock County Jail in his capacity as a certified drug recognition expert.


McGary is investigating a theft of a rabbit and an urn from a Lamoine residence Saturday. The rabbit was located. Investigation continues.

Criminal mischief

McGary responded to a criminal mischief complaint in Lamoine Saturday in which a garage door was damaged on a seasonal residence. The investigation is continuing.
