ELLSWORTH — Maine State Police Cpl. Dan Ryan is investigating a theft of roofing shingles taken from a Stonington property.
The theft was reported on Sunday.
Arrests
Sgt. Tim Varney arrested a motorist who crashed into a tree and then fled the vehicle Nov. 5 on Route 179 in Fletchers Landing.
Varney arrested Michelle Murphy, 45, of Fletchers Landing on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
The officer had been trying to catch up to Murphy, who was traveling at a high rate of speed, police said.
Summonses
A driver went off the road and crashed her vehicle then fled the scene in Township 9 Nov. 7, police said.
Trooper Shaunna Beaudoin summoned Maxine Benson, 31, of Bar Harbor on a charge of failure to report a crash by the quickest means. Sgt. Jeff Ingemi and Sgt. Jason Sattler assisted.
Beaudoin summoned Sandra Rogers, 57, of Medway on a charge of operating after suspension after a traffic stop in the town of Otis Nov. 7. Ingemi assisted.
