Maine State Police Log Week of May 7



ELLSWORTH — A Washington state man was arrested after Maine State Police Trooper Gavin Endre and Cpl. Chris Smith responded to Township 41 April 29 for a threatening complaint.

Township 41 is located in Hancock County, north of the town of Great Pond.

The caller alleged that the man had threatened him. Police said the man fled before they arrived.

“Upon checking the nearby camps, troopers located a broken window,” police reported.

The suspect, Leighton Jacques Dorsett, 52, agreed to leave the camp once he learned Cpl. Smith had police dog Winger on the scene, trooper said.

Dorsett was arrested on charges of burglary, criminal mischief and theft and taken to the Hancock County Jail. Dorsett has been released on bail.

Impaired operation

The Maine State Police arrested a Florida motorist after encountering a motor vehicle accident in Castine Saturday.

Trooper Owen Reed arrested Shea Donnelly, 22, of Florida on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant.

Summons

Trooper Jeffrey Taylor summoned Jessica Stubbs, 28, of Addison on a charge of violating conditions of her release April 27.

Theft

A wallet was reported stolen from a vehicle in Princeton April 28. Trooper David Barnard is handling the complaint.

Several street signs have been stolen in the town of Cooper. The thefts were reported Saturday. A few of the signs have since been recovered in East Machias. Cpl. Micah Perkins is investigating.
