ELLSWORTH — A traffic stop for speeding 99 miles per hour in a 60-mph zone on Route 1A in Dedham May 11 led to multiple charges for the motorist, the Maine State Police reported.
Sgt. Tim Varney charged Patrick Mullen, 50, of East Machias with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant, violating conditions of his release and criminal speed.
Trooper Travis Chapman noticed a vehicle going 90 miles per hour in a 50-mph zone on Route 1 in Orland Friday. Zachary Emery, 23, of Orland was summoned on a charge of speeding.
Trooper Dana Austin summoned an Eastbrook man twice on charges of operating after suspension May 12. Austin summoned Kolton Eschete, 24, after stopping his vehicle for a traffic violation in Hancock, police said.
“Later in the day, Trooper Austin observed Kolton driving the same vehicle and his driver’s license was still suspended,” police reported. “Trooper Austin stopped Kolton and summoned him again for operating after suspension.”
Austin summoned Kaleb Kenney, 20, of Columbia Falls on a charge of operating after suspension. Kenney was operating an all-terrain vehicle, which Austin stopped for a traffic violation on the Centerville Road in Columbia Falls May 13, police said.
An Addison man was arrested May 14 at the White Birches in Hancock after he became “extremely intoxicated and was using profanities and disturbing the peace,” police reported.
Trooper Blaine Silk first escorted the man, Donald Therrien, 25, to his room and warned him for disorderly conduct. However, Therrien emerged from his room several minutes later and began yelling and disturbing the peace again, police said.
Silk charged Therrien with disorderly conduct and took him to the Hancock County Jail.
Varney and Trooper Travis Chapman assisted.
