ELLSWORTH — The Maine State Police made an arrest after getting a call from a Mariaville camp owner about a man who had been walking around the camp May 24. The camp owner found the door open.
Trooper Dana Austin located the man walking on the Old Hay Road. “The male provided a fake name to Trooper Austin and after some time it was learned that the male was James Newenham, 36, of Milbridge,” police said. “James was uncooperative and was subsequently arrested for refusing to submit to arrest, disorderly conduct, unlawful possession of Schedule Z drugs and violating his probation conditions.”
Sgt. Jason Sattler, Maine Game Warden Eric Rudolph and Trooper Gavin Endre assisted.
More arrests
Trooper Owen Reed arrested Clint Curtis, 47, of Blue Hill on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant in Blue Hill Sunday after Reed reportedly found Curtis spinning his tires in the roadway.
Austin responded to Sullivan Saturday for a fight between two people. As a result of the investigation, Justin Kane, 24, of Sullivan was arrested on a charge of probation violation. Austin was assisted by Cpl. Christopher Smith.
Speeding
Trooper Caleb McGary summoned Jasmine Thomas, 19, of Brooksville on a charge of speeding 90 miles per hour in a 55-mph zone in Surry May 27.
Austin summoned Kevin Venard, 19, of Sullivan on a charge of speeding 30 miles or more over the limit, specifically 89 miles per hour in a 50-mph zone Friday in Hancock.
Summons
Joshua Wilbur, 34, of Franklin was summoned on a charge of operating after habitual offender revocation Saturday.
