Calais peeper eludes officers’ prying eyes
ELLSWORTH — Maine State Police Trooper Kim Sawyer and Washington County Deputy Sheriff Bill White searched for a man who was allegedly peeking in windows around Mahar Street in Calais Friday but were unable to find him.
Sawyer received a report from someone in Charlotte May 24 that credit card information had been stolen. Whoever stole the information created a PayPal account and ran up several charges, police said.
Trooper Owen Reed summoned Earl Awalt, 50, of Ellsworth on a charge of operating after suspension after a traffic stop in Sullivan May 27.
Trooper Travis Chapman stopped a vehicle for speeding on Acadia Highway in Orland Saturday. As a result of the stop, the juvenile operator of Orland was summoned on a charge of operating without a license.
Cpl. Jeff Taylor summoned Nicole Rezendes, 32, of Harrington on a charge of theft after responding to a shoplifting complaint in Harrington where alcohol was reported stolen. Rezendes also was given a criminal trespass notice not to return to the Dollar General.
