Maine State Police Log Week of June 14



ELLSWORTH — Maine State Police Trooper Owen Reed arrested a Surry man who allegedly led police on a high-speed chase in Surry June 7.

Reed had tried to stop the man for speeding and having a loud exhaust, police reported.

The trooper arrested Richard Acampora, 19, on a charge of eluding an officer.

Trooper Travis Chapman, the Maine Marine Patrol and the Ellsworth Police Department assisted.

Theft

Police are investigating a theft of two kayaks from Castine.

The theft was reported June 4. Reed is the investigating officer.

Chapman is investigating a theft of a computer, valued at $1,400, through a transaction on eBay. The victim is a Surry resident.

Summonses

A traffic stop on Route 1A in Ellsworth Friday for motor vehicle defects led to multiple charges for a Steuben man.

Trooper Gavin Endre summoned Harold Pottle, 43, of Steuben on charges of possession of a Schedule W drug, violating condition of release, possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as multiple motor vehicle violation summonses.

Chapman summoned Nathan Nicholls, 36, of Surry on a charge of operating after suspension in Blue Hill Saturday.
