ELLSWORTH — The Maine State Police investigated a crash on Route 1 in Sullivan late in the morning on Dec. 8 that resulted in the arrest of one of the drivers.
A pickup truck operated by Michael Soule, 66, of Sullivan sideswiped a passenger car and a tractor-trailer before going into a ditch, said Trooper Einar Mattson.
Several 911 calls came in about the incident, which occurred over the course of a mile, the trooper said.
Mattson charged Soule with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant, police said.
More arrests
Trooper Kim Sawyer arrested Shane Kerrigan, 25, of Charlotte on charges of OUI and violating conditions of release after receiving complaints of erratic driving in Charlotte Dec. 8.
Sgt. Jeff Ingemi arrested Joshua Sprague, 42, of Wesley on a charge of OUI after a traffic stop in Whitneyville Nov. 29. He was also summoned on a charge of operating beyond his license restrictions. The Maine Forestry Service assisted.
Sgt. Alden Bustard arrested Eric Morrell, 41, of Robbinston on a charge of OUl after a traffic stop in Robbinston Dec. 1.
Ashley Clement, 24, of Eastport was arrested on a charge of OUI Dec. 3 after Trooper Jarid Leonard investigated a crash in Whiting.
Speeding
Sgt. Daniel Ryan summoned Adam Rowe, 33, of Bucksport on a charge of speeding 107 miles per hour in a 50-mph zone on Route 15 in Penobscot Dec. 1.
Trooper Owen Reed arrested Kimani Anderson, 22, of Texas and Castine on a charge of criminal speed after a traffic stop in Castine Dec. 4. Anderson was traveling 94 mph in a 45-mph zone, police said.
Summonses
Leonard summoned Robert Bolen, 46, of Milbridge on a charge of operating after suspension Dec. 10.
Kenneth Hanselpacker, 71, of Charlotte, New Brunswick, was summoned on a charge of operating after suspension after a traffic stop in Wesley Dec. 3.
Criminal mischief
Trooper Keith York is investigating an incident in which a rock was thrown through a seasonal residence in Grand Lake Stream. The damage was reported Dec. 11.
