Maine State Police Log Week of Dec. 6

ELLSWORTH — The Maine State Police Nov. 28 arrested an Orland woman who was found slumped over the wheel of her vehicle, which was running and in gear.

Trooper Caleb McGary arrested the woman, Krystle Hanscom, 34, on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant (drugs).

“It initially appeared to be a drug overdose of some sort and Hanscom was put through field sobriety tests before she was arrested for attempting to operate the vehicle under the influence of drugs,” McGary said.

Trooper Dana Austin assisted.

Police took a call from a concerned citizen who saw Hanscom and thought she was unconscious.

Trooper Shaunna Beaudoin is investigating a theft of cash that was taken from unlocked vehicles during the overnight hours of Nov. 27.

Beaudoin summoned Katrina Springer, 28, of Ellsworth on a charge of operating after suspension after a crash in Hancock on Nov. 28.

Cpl. Dan Ryan summoned Eric Carlson, 44, of Sedgwick on a charge of operating a motor vehicle after suspension on Route 15 in Sedgwick Nov. 29.

Two people were taken to a hospital Saturday after a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.

Austin said an elderly man crossed a roadway and struck a woman who was walking her dog. Both operator and pedestrian had minor injuries, Austin said.
