Maine State Police Log Week of March 14



ELLSWORTH — The Maine State Police arrested an Otis man after he was stopped for speeding on Route 1A in Dedham March 4.

Sgt. Tim Varney charged Aaron Plourde, 50, with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant and criminal speeding. Police said Plourde was traveling 87 mph in a 55-mph zone.

A traffic stop in Ellsworth Feb. 28 led to another arrest.

Trooper Caleb McGary arrested Patrick Lynn, 31, of Ellsworth on a charge of violating conditions of his release. Lynn allegedly had alcohol in the vehicle, police said.

Summonses

Trooper Travis Chapman summoned Brandie Higgins, 43, of Mount Desert on a charge of operating after suspension March 3 on Morgan Bay Road in Surry.

Trooper Owen Reed summoned Jason Holley, 25, of Penobscot on a charge of operating without a license after a traffic stop in Orland March 1.

Varney summoned John Stanley, 25, of Addison on a charge of operating after suspension after a traffic stop on Route 1 in Hancock Feb. 27.

Theft

Cpl. Dan Ryan is investigating a shoplifting complaint at a Blue Hill business that was reported Feb. 26. Liquor was taken from the store.
