Maine State Police: Jackknifed tractor-trailer causes road closure

ELLSWORTH — The Maine State Police closed a portion of Route 9 in Amherst Feb. 6 after a tractor-trailer jackknifed on the road due to icy conditions.

The road was closed for three hours while wreckers worked to get the rig back on the roadway.

Trooper Dana Austin handled the incident with assistance from Maine Game Warden Alan Curtis.

The Maine State Police are investigating a burglary at a Blue Hill business on Feb. 3.

Tools were taken. Trooper Owen Reed is the investigator.

Trooper Caleb McGary summoned Collin Chamberlain, 22, of Ellsworth on a charge of violating conditions of his release after a traffic stop in Ellsworth Feb. 3. Chamberlain allegedly had knives in his possession, which is a violation of his bail conditions, police said.

Ryan Williford, 33, of Blue Hill, was summoned on a charge of operating without a license after a traffic stop in Penobscot Feb. 3.
