A delivery truck slid backward down an icy hill into the front of a stuck dump truck it had tried to pass on East Shore Road on Frenchboro Jan. 10, police reported.

Deputy Travis Frost said Kevin Wark of Ellsworth was operating the dump truck, a 2011 Navigator belonging to Gott’s.

Frost said both motorists and one passenger suffered minor injuries.

James Savoy, 57, of Winthrop was operating a 2013 Ford Escape, which collided with an oncoming 2000 Honda operated by Kathryn Arbach, 52, of Lamoine, Frost said.

Savoy did not see the car when he was turning into the driveway, the deputy said. Arbach tried to swerve her car but couldn’t avoid the collision, Frost said.
