ELLSWORTH — Hancock County Sheriff’s deputies have responded to numerous burglaries over the past week. The break-ins occurred at a business, a church and several residences.
Two men were charged with burglary with a firearm after an incident at a Sullivan residence Feb. 25.
Deputy Eric McLaughlin arrested Jamie Brown, 36, of Ellsworth and Ronald Brown, 59, of Sullivan. Ronald Brown was also charged with violating conditions of his release.
Both were still incarcerated Tuesday.
Deputies are investigating a burglary that occurred Feb. 24 at the Surry Market. There is no word on what was taken.
Deputy Dana Austin is investigating a burglary at a Sedgwick church with Detective Stephen McFarland. The burglary was reported Saturday.
Police are investigating burglaries at residences in Verona Island and Hancock.
McLaughlin is investigating a theft of prescription medications from a Sullivan residence Feb. 24.
A Deer Isle woman reported a theft of items from her former residence in Penobscot. Deputy Ben Astbury is investigating.
Vandals smashed out the rear window of a Lamoine man’s car Monday.
Lt. Chris Thornton helped the Ellsworth Police Department by responding to a theft complaint at Walmart Friday. Thornton said all officers had been handling a “priority call.”
Thornton summoned Timothy Kane, 31, of Trenton on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.
Deputy Rob Morang aided the Maine Marine Patrol by checking on possible illegal activity on the ocean near Swan’s Island.
Austin performed a drug recognition evaluation on a suspect at the jail on behalf of the Gouldsboro Police Department Saturday. As a result, John Organes, 32, of Milbridge was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant.
Austin did a well-being check on a Deer Isle resident on behalf of the Waldo County District Attorney’s Office Friday.
Austin also did a well-being check on a Stonington resident on behalf of the Ellsworth Police Department Monday. The resident was fine.
Deputy Jake Day is investigating a complaint of sexual assault that occurred between two youths in Tremont.
Police are investigating an assault that allegedly occurred in Trenton Feb. 22 after a road rage incident.
Deputy Travis Frost summoned Christopher Youngblood, 23, of Franklin on a charge of operating after suspension Feb. 24 in Southwest Harbor.
