ELLSWORTH — A 25-year-old man who crashed his car Saturday on Route 179 in Waltham is facing a drunk-driving charge.
Anthony Jordan was southbound in a 2010 Toyota when the vehicle drifted onto the shoulder and hit a tree. Jordan, who was summoned on a charge of operating while under the influence, sustained face and chest injuries and was taken to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth for treatment.
The Toyota is considered a total loss.
Copper pipes were reported stolen Sunday from the basement of a vacant home in Amherst.
Revelers in Tremont Sunday were warned to keep the noise down after a deputy responded to a complaint of a loud party with fireworks.

Assault Suspect Injured
A suspect in a Sept. 12 domestic assault was hospitalized for minor injuries he sustained while fleeing from the scene of the alleged attack.
Justin Martin, 25, of Sedgwick was arrested charges of domestic violence assault and terrorizing. Martin was treated at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital in Blue Hill and taken to the Hancock County Jail in Ellsworth.
Patrick Betts, 27, of Deer Isle was arrested Sept. 12 on a charge of violating his bail conditions.
A Sept. 11 complaint from an off-duty police officer led to the arrest of an Ellsworth man on a drunk-driving charge.
Deputy Larry Fickett stopped a vehicle driven by James Ray, 27, in Ellsworth and arrested him on charges of operating while under the influence. Ray additionally was charged with possession a scheduled drug and sale or use of drug paraphernalia, the deputy reported.
Earl Soper, 50, of Orland was issued a summons Sept. 11 charging him with assault after a Sedgwick man reported he had been assaulted at a business in Orland.
