Hancock County Sheriff: Man Arrested After Crashing Truck in Sedgwick

ELLSWORTH — The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Sedgwick man after he crashed his pickup truck on Christy Hill Road in Sedgwick early Saturday morning.

The motorist was driving north when the truck drifted off the road and struck a utility pole, Deputy Jeff McFarland said.

Francis Tuttle Jr., 22, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet S10, which sustained $7,500 in damage, McFarland reported.

Tuttle was not injured, the deputy said.

McFarland arrested Tuttle on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant.

A sport utility vehicle was totaled after a motorist drifted off the road onto an embankment and rolled on Route 172 in Surry Monday morning.

Taylor Schultz, 18, of Ellsworth was driving a 2006 Mitsubishi, Deputy Luke Gross said.

A Deer Isle resident called police Sunday to report that several stone sculptures had been tampered with overnight.
