TOWNSHIP 7 — The Maine State Police said a Gouldsboro woman, 51, died in a two-vehicle crash here on Route 1 Nov. 25.
Township 7 is located between Steuben and Gouldsboro.
Trooper Dana Austin said Ami Norton was pronounced dead at the scene.
Norton was operating a pickup truck, which for an unknown reason crossed over the yellow centerline and struck a Ford F-550 dump body truck head-on, Austin said. “The operator of that truck, a 37-year-old man from Columbia, was transported to Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.”
The operator of the Ford F-550 was Kurt Guptill, police said.
The accident remains under investigation.
Sgt. Jason Sattler, Trooper Cliff Peterson, Trooper Darren Vittum, the Ellsworth Police Department, the Gouldsboro Police Department, the Gouldsboro Fire Department, the Steuben Fire Department and the Sullivan Fire Department assisted at the scene.
