Gouldsboro Police Log Week of Sept. 13



GOULDSBORO — On Aug. 28, Gouldsboro police responded to a report of a family fight inside a vehicle parked on Route 1.

The vehicle sped away toward Sullivan and later crashed at the intersection of a private drive and Route 1 in Gouldsboro, near the Sullivan town line, according to police.

The front of the vehicle suffered functional damage. As a result of the incident, Jasmine Rumery, 29, of Milbridge was arrested and charged with domestic violence assault and driving to endanger.

One other adult and two youths were in the vehicle at the time but did not require medical treatment.

Arrests

As the result of an Aug. 29 traffic stop on Schieffelin Point Road, Sherman Merchant II, 55, of Gouldsboro was arrested on a warrant charging him with failure to appear. Merchant also was charged with operating after suspension.

On Sept. 6, police received information regarding a potential sex offender registration violation.

As a result of an investigation, Joseph Lagasse, 51, of Gouldsboro was arrested on Taft Point Road and charged with violating conditions of release and failure to comply with the Sex Offender Registry Act of 1999.

On Sept. 6, Kerry Nash, 58, of Gouldsboro was arrested on Nahum Jones Road for three warrants alleging failure to pay fines. Nash was transported to Hancock County Jail.

Animal complaint

Following an Aug. 28 complaint about goats trespassing on private property, Peter Valencia, 37, of Gouldsboro was charged with animal trespass.
