Gouldsboro Police: 911 Hang-up Calls Traced to Man’s Grandchildren

GOULDSBORO — Police investigating several 911 hang-up calls from a home on Paul Bunyan Road in the village of Corea June 13 found a harried grandfather cooking dinner for two grandchildren.

Police said the homeowner told them that while he was cooking pasta and hot dogs for the children, they were making the 911 hang-up calls.

The man joked that he was having trouble keeping the youngsters “corralled.”

Bat Report

A Gouldsboro Point Road woman called police June 13 to report a bat in a bathroom in her home.

Police said that although the woman said she spotted the bat in a ceiling exhaust fan, it was gone by the time they got there.

The woman said she would have the vents sealed.

Open Door

Police found the front door of a home on Gouldsboro Point Road unsecured June 11 during a routine property check.

Police said workmen were unable to reset the security alarm nor were they able to secure the door because it has a deadbolt.
