Franklin Woman Charged in Gas Station Theft

ELLSWORTH — The Ellsworth Police Department has charged a Franklin woman with stealing over $1,700 from her employer.


Ashley Carney, 25, has been charged with Class C theft, which is a felony.

“Carney allegedly stole over $1,700 from R.H. Foster while she was an employee of the Hilltop Mobil,” said Lt. Harold Page.

Carney is scheduled to make an initial appearance in Hancock County Superior Court on April 15.

If convicted, Carney could face a sentence of up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
