Franklin Teens Charged After Traffic Stop

ELLSWORTH — Two teenagers are facing charges following a traffic stop in Franklin Aug. 27.

Trooper Greg Roy summoned Matthew Crabtree, 18, of Franklin on charges of operating without a license and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The passenger in the vehicle, Hans Cote, 19, of Franklin was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to pay fines. Cote also was summoned on charges of trespass by a motor vehicle and displaying a fictitious inspection sticker stemming from an earlier complaint in Franklin.


Troopers are investigating an Aug. 22 complaint in Deer Isle in which a family member from out of state reported that a stepmother had assaulted her child.


Trooper Daniel Ryan handled a shoplifting complaint in Stonington Aug. 24. A suspect has been identified from video footage.

Prescription medications were reported stolen in Eastbrook Aug. 26.

Arrests and Summonses

William Andrews, 36, Sullivan, warrant.

Daniel Whynott, 20, Gouldsboro, possession of a usable amount of marijuana.

Bradley Astbury, 72, Penobscot, operating under the influence of intoxicating liquor and operating after suspension.
