Ellsworth Police Log Week of May 10



ELLSWORTH — A man reportedly made off with $450 of his cousin’s cash after stealing her wallet on High Street around 9 p.m. and fleeing the scene, according to police.

The incident occurred on May 5. Officers have not yet been able to locate the suspect, who police say is not from the area.

Thefts and other losses

Grace R. Hatch, 18, of Orland was charged with theft on May 5 after allegedly stealing $1,750 in cash from Walmart over the course of several months. Hatch was an employee of the company, according to a police report of the incident.

Jason Chase, 39, of Bucksport and Savanna Brown, 24, of Bucksport were both issued summonses for theft following an incident at Hannaford on May 2.

Shannon Hill, 46, of Ellsworth was issued a summons on behalf of the Brewer Police Department for an alleged theft that occurred in Brewer on May 5.

Eric Butler, 28, of Hancock was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant, operating after suspension and violation of conditions of release following a traffic stop on Main Street on May 5.

Arrests

Mustafa Al Shuwaili, 25, of Ellsworth was arrested on charges of domestic violence assault, domestic violence criminal threatening and violation of conditions of release following an incident on Water Street on May 2 in which he allegedly “punched his girlfriend in the face,” according to police.

Al Shuwaili fled but was later located at Union River Estates and taken into custody.

Eighteen-year-old Ellsworth resident Jack Michaud was arrested and a 15-year-old boy from Ellsworth was issued summonses on charges of burglary and theft following an incident at the Ellsworth Elementary-Middle School track snack shack on May 1.

The boys allegedly stole “candy, chips and soda,” according to a police report.

Michael Brimhall, 32, of Ellsworth was arrested and charged with OUI following a traffic stop on May 3.

Patrick Lynn Jr., 31, of Ellsworth was arrested for violation of conditions of release and operating after suspension following a traffic stop on May 5.

Twenty-nine-year-old Ashley Bragg was arrested and charged with domestic violence assault following an incident at a local apartment building on May 6.

According to a report, officers responding to the residence found a man and a woman who were intoxicated and observed “some cuts” on the man’s face. A witness reportedly heard a man screaming “stop hitting me,” although the man denied he had been hit. Bragg was arrested at the scene. The following day, after receiving a report of an “intoxicated person” at Walmart, police arrested the Fletchers Landing woman on a charge of violation of conditions of release.

Justin Pinkham, 28, of Sullivan was arrested for allegedly stealing wireless headphones worth $200 from a local wireless store on May 7.

Summonses

Starr Smith, 56, of Ellsworth was summoned on a domestic violence assault charge following an incident on Oak Street on May 2. An officer passing by observed a male and female outside a vehicle “arguing over a cell phone.”

Smith “ripped the shirt of her boyfriend during the struggle over the cell phone,” according to a report of the incident.

Harapeet Sandhu, 21, of Bangor was issued a summons for criminal speeding following a traffic stop on May 7.

Traffic violations

Hayley White, 25, of Lamoine was issued a summons for texting while driving following a traffic stop on High Street on May 2.
