Ellsworth Police log week of March 12



ELLSWORTH — A 50-year-old Ellsworth man was arrested on March 8 after reportedly assaulting his girlfriend after an argument about “alcohol consumption and a lack of employment,” according to a police report.

The woman told police that Russell Thompson had “strangled her, pulled her hair, punched her on the head, slapped her in the face and dragged her across the floor,” according to a report. She did not seek medical treatment.

Police arrested Thompson and charged him with aggravated assault, Class B and domestic violence assault, Class C.

Bail violation, drug charges

A 40-year-old Deer Isle man was charged with violating bail and four counts of drug possession after police stopped the car he was driving for a cracked windshield on March 9, Police found what appeared to be methamphetamines and prescription medications, according to a police report.

Matthew Foster was charged with violation of bail, Class E, possession of hypodermic apparatus, possession of a Schedule W drug, Class C, possession of a Schedule W drug, Class D, possession of a Schedule Z drug, Class E and possession of a Schedule Y drug, Class E.

Citizen assists

Police responded to a report on March 4 of an intoxicated man who “had wandered over to another residence” and started arguing with the inhabitant. The man left with a relative after officers arrived.

Police responded to a local residence after a neighbor reported hearing “multiple gunshots.” No charges were filed.

Police spoke to residents involved in an argument “where a gun had allegedly been used to make a threat” on March 3 but found that the reported victim did not want to press charges.

Police spoke to a man “tearing up his own lawn on his four-wheeler” around 3 a.m. on March 9. He agreed not to ride so early in the morning.

Car-deer collision

Michael Macy of Otis was issued a deer tag on March 5 after the animal struck his truck when it ran into the road around 5:45 a.m. and hit the rear driver’s side.

Arrests

Police arrested an Ellsworth man for reportedly selling his prescription medication. Steven L. Robertson, 41 was taken into custody on March 3 on charges of unlawful trafficking in Schedule W drugs and violating conditions of release.

Chase A. Hawley, 29, of Orland was arrested on March 5 on a charge of violating a protection order while at the district court building.

Terry Pinkham, 38, of Ellsworth was arrested after a traffic stop on March 6 on a charge of operating under the influence.

Aubrie Boyce, 21, of Searsport was arrested after a traffic stop on March 8 on a charge of operating under the influence.

John Lane, 55, of Ellsworth was arrested after a traffic stop on March 7 on a charge of operating under the influence.

Summonses

Nancy Fox, 50, of Ellsworth was summoned on March 3 on a charge of operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

Bruce Wallace, 67, of Ellsworth was summoned on March 3 for an alleged bail violation.

Elizabeth Wyman, 27, of Trenton was summoned on March 3 on charges of operating after suspension, operating an unregistered motor vehicle for more than 150 days, operating a motor vehicle with an expired registration and illegal attachment of plates after police pulled her over for an expired registration.

Wyman also was issued a vehicular summons for reportedly failing to update her address.

Evelyn Kinghorn, 62, of Ellsworth was summoned on March 6 on a charge of operating after license suspension.

Theft

Denise Grant, 51, of Ellsworth was charged with theft after an incident at Walmart on March 9.

Traffic violations

Kevin Mulvihill, 27, of Bangor, speeding 64 mph in a 55-mph zone on Route 1A on March 9.

Amanda Plasse-Bell, 35, of Greenbush, failure to provide valid proof of inspection following a traffic stop on the Bangor Road on March 6.

Audrey Staples, 21, of East Machias, operating a motor vehicle while using a handheld device on the Bangor Road on March 3.
