Ellsworth Police Log Week of Dec. 20



ELLSWORTH — Police responded to several residents in need of crisis care this week.

Officers and emergency crews were called to a local residence on Dec. 13 after being notified that a 37-year-old woman had overdosed on over-the-counter medication in an attempt to commit suicide, according to a police report. The woman was willingly transported to Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital.

A local woman called police on Dec. 16 requesting that officers check on her adult son, who had recently been “kicked out of the place he was staying and now wants to commit suicide.” The woman called back shortly thereafter and said her son was with a friend and on his way to Bangor, according to a report of the incident.

On Dec. 13, officers were called to Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital by staff because of “an unruly patient that was escalating.” When officers arrived the patient was “in his room and anxious,” wrote police, and “he was willing to take whatever the staff wanted for him to take.”

Smoke found to be steam

A fire alert at Jackson Lab on Dec. 12 was found to be “steam coming from the roof pipes,” according to a police report of the incident.

Father and son separated

Officers responded to a reported domestic incident between a father and son at a Deane Street residence on Dec. 13. The two were separated for the night and no charges were filed, according to a police report.

Missing roommate located

A resident reported to police on Dec. 13 that her roommate was missing. The roommate was later located and “had sought out medical attention,” according to a police report.

Arrests

Nicholas Stanley, 32, of Ellsworth was arrested on Dec. 17 on a warrant out of Hancock County after officers located him on Myrick Street.

Regina Charette, 41, of Trenton was arrested on two warrants out of Androscoggin and Penobscot counties following a traffic stop on Dec. 11, according to a police report of the incident.

Summons

Christopher Smith, 32, of Blue Hill was summoned on Dec. 16 on a charge of permitting unlawful use of a motor vehicle and possession of a firearm by a felon, according to a police report of the incident.

Jade Giger, 32, of Gouldsboro was charged with operating with a suspended registration following a traffic stop on Dec. 12, according to a police report of the incident.

Amanda Lanigan, 35, of Ellsworth was summoned on Dec. 15 for allegedly operating after suspension following a traffic stop for a vehicle defect.

Thefts and other losses

Seven small denomination collectible bills, valued around $86, were reported stolen from a local residence on Dec. 15. Officers are investigating.

On Dec. 11, a business owner reported a bad check that had been returned. Police are investigating.

Staff at Renys reported a theft of boots valued at $125 that reportedly occurred on Dec. 7. Police are looking into the matter.

Traffic violations

Vanessa Martin, 38, of Surry was issued a summons for allegedly failing to pay a fine for operating after suspension following a traffic stop on State Street on Dec. 15.

Kelley Conary, 24, of Surry, 70 mph in a 55-mph-zone on the Bangor Road on Dec. 14.
