Ellsworth Police Log Week of April 12



ELLSWORTH — A local resident called police on April 9 to report concerns about “two young boys” on the bridge under construction on the Bangor Road, according to a police report.

Officers spoke to the boys and found that they “had been taking in the view.”

Spring brings out the critters

Several deer were struck in accidents over the weekend.

The first reported collision occurred just after 10 p.m. on April 7, when a car driven by Corey Buxton of Otis struck a deer that ran out from the right hand side of the road, according to police.

Buxton was traveling northwest on the Mariaville Road at the time of the accident. The condition of the deer was not noted. The car sustained minor damage to a light on the driver’s side.

Stephanie Junkins was traveling on the Bangor Road in the early morning hours of April 8 when she struck a deer that ran out in front of her car, according to a police report.

The vehicle sustained a small dent to the front bumper. The deer was killed and Junkins was issued a deer tag for the small buck.

Thefts and other losses

On April 3, Joel Marceau, 55, was summoned on a theft charge after he was allegedly observed putting $64 worth of “liquor and other items” in his backpack at Shaw’s and “fleeing the store without attempting to purchase the merchandise,” according to a police report.

Stephen Lavoix, 62, of Ellsworth was summoned on a theft charge after allegedly shoplifting “liquor and razor blades” from Hannaford on April 9, according to a police report.

Summonses

Lynne Dugay, 54, of Ellsworth was summoned on charges of operating an unregistered motor vehicle for over 150 days and failure to provide proof of insurance following a traffic stop on State Street on April 2.

Dana Cloukey, 33, of Ellsworth was summoned on charges of failure to register a motor vehicle for between 30 and 150 days and failure to notify the secretary of state of an address change following a traffic stop on the Surry Road on April 2.

A 12-year-old boy from Waltham was issued a summons charging him with criminal mischief after he allegedly tried “to start a fire at a local salvage store” on March 23, according to a police report.

Jeffrey Raymond, 35, of North Anson was issued summonses charging him with operating after suspension and failure to display a valid certificate of inspection following a traffic stop on State Street on April 3.

Derek Grass, 26, of Ellsworth was summoned on a criminal mischief charge after police received a report of damage to a Red Box, a video-rental system, at Walgreens in Ellsworth on April 6.

Robert Power, 38, of Holden was summoned on a charge of violation of conditions of release on April 5.

Arrests

Mustafa Al Shuwaili, 25, of Ellsworth was arrested following a bail check on April 4.

Daniel Dunn, 35, of Ellsworth was arrested on April 4 on a charge of violation of conditions of release after officers found that he had two cans of beer in his possession, according to a report of the incident.

Staff at a local business called police to report that Dunn was “begging for money and harassing customers,” according to the report.

Cory Sargent, 35, of Ellsworth was arrested following a traffic stop in Ellsworth on April 5 on a warrant for “fishing violations,” according to a police report.

Miranda Berry, 23, of Ellsworth was arrested on April 4 and charged with violation of condition of release.

Vincent Lombardi II, 45, of Bangor was arrested on April 7 on a warrant out of Ellsworth for failure to pay fines.

As a result of a traffic stop on April 5, Jayleen Spencer, 28, of Ellsworth was arrested and summoned on charges of attaching false plates and possession of hypodermic apparatus.

Tamara Strout, 48, of Ellsworth was arrested on April 9 on a warrant for failure to pay restitution.

Kelly Moore, 55, of Bucksport, 74 mph in a 55-mph-zone on the Bucksport Road on April 3.

Kelli Merchant, 58, of Hancock, 45 mph in a 30-mph-zone on Main Street on April 3.

Isaiah Lawley, 18, of Ellsworth, 44 mph in a 35-mph-zone on High Street on April 7.

Darelyn Harvey, 47, of Mount Desert on High Street on April 4.

Hunter Rivers, 23, of Gouldsboro on Main Street on April 4.

Dakota Solares, 23, of Pembroke on High Street on April 4.
