BAR HARBOR —Two men were injured in a Route 3 crash Tuesday afternoon.

Police say Stephen Moon, 61, of Bar Harbor, was headed north on Route 3 in his 2012 Ford pickup truck when it reportedly crossed the centerline and struck a Ford Crown Victoria sedan driven by Joshua Sawyer, 22, also of Bar Harbor, around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The pickup hit soft grass and flipped onto its side after the collision, while the crumpled Ford sedan was propelled into the parking lot of the Log Cabin restaurant.

Emergency responders from Bar Harbor and Mount Desert used a hydraulic extracation tool to get Moon out of his vehicle. Both men were transported to Mount Desert Island Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Police continue to investigate, Officer Dustin Tierney said.
