ELLSWORTH — Along with 83 other law enforcement agencies across Maine, the Ellsworth Police Department is taking part in the annual seat belt enforcement campaign.
The national effort is known as “Click It or Ticket,” while in Maine it is called “Buckle Up — No Excuses.”
Police report a first-time seat belt violation costs $70, while a second offense costs $160 and a third carries a $310 price tag.
The following individuals were ticketed for seat belt violations in the past week:

James K. Ross, 47, of Hancock, May 22 on High Street.
Ernol R. Huntley, 68, of Ellsworth, May 23 on Route 3.
Shawn D. King, 28, of Ellsworth, May 23 on Myrick Street.
Trasi A. Colson, 37, of Mount Desert, May 23 on Myrick Street.
Timothy D. Jones, 56, of Bucksport, May 23 on Water Street.
Zachary D. Jordan, 20, of Eastbrook, May 23 on Route 1.
Brian E. Stanwood Jr., 27, of Winter Harbor, May 23 on High Street.
Brianna J. Crane, 24, of Ellsworth, May 23 on High Street.
A 17-year-old boy from Lamoine, May 23 on Myrick Street.
Paul S. Hamblen, 19, of Bar Harbor, May 24 on Myrick Street.
