Car/deer accidents keep deputies busy

ELLSWORTH — Be careful out there. Deputies responded to eight car/deer accidents during the past week.

No one in the vehicles was injured, but one crash in Orland on Nov. 14 caused extensive front-end damage to a 2004 Ford van driven by a Bucksport woman.

Jennifer Ames, 36, was westbound on Route 1 when a deer ran onto the road.

A second car/deer accident in Orland occurred Sunday. The other accidents were reported in Trenton, Tremont, Penobscot, Surry and Brooksville.
