Bucksport Police: Woman Reports Strange Call, Unauthorized Withdrawals

BUCKSPORT — A local woman reported Oct. 22 that she received a phone call from a man with a thick accent identifying himself as an officer with the cyber crimes unit. He left a message demanding she call him back or she would be arrested, police said.

The woman later discovered several unauthorized withdrawals from her bank account.

Arrests and Summonses

The following individuals were arrested or issued summonses last week:

Timothy Nadeau, 44, Bucksport, warrant.

Sam Crawford, 32, Orland, warrant.

Boy, 16, Orland, possession of tobacco by a minor, possession of a usable amount of marijuana.

Yaicha Wathne, 28, Bucksport, operating after suspension.

Valerie Hovey, 33, Bucksport, operating after suspension, failure to provide proof of insurance.

Kyle Kettle, 22, Bucksport, warrant.

Nathan Hawes, 20, Bucksport, warrant.


A 2001 Dodge pickup truck operated by Jason Boyce, 31, of Bucksport sustained about $1,000 in damage after hitting a deer on the River Road Oct. 21.

A woman reported someone backed into her parked vehicle while she was at work Oct. 18.

Criminal Trespass

A Federal Street resident reported Oct. 22 that he heard tapping on his door and someone trying to enter his residence shortly before 2 a.m.


A man reported someone smashed out the headlights on his vehicle Oct. 19. He estimated damage to be about $400.


Police are investigating the theft of tools from a Millvale Road property Oct. 22.

A woman reported change and a tool stolen from a car parked on Heritage Park Road Oct. 18.

The vehicle had been totaled and the doors could not be locked.
