BUCKSPORT — Officers arrested one Bucksport resident and one Verona Island resident in separate incidents last week.
Officer Gerald Lowe arrested Sherry Runci, 37, of Bucksport on a charge of violating conditions of release Oct. 23.
Lowe summoned Runci on a charge of possession of hypodermic apparatus and took her to the Hancock County Jail. Runci is free on bail.
Officer Matt Schmidt arrested William McLaughlin, 34, of Verona Island on a charge of operating as a habitual offender. McLaughlin was bailed from the police station.
Speeding
Officers issued numerous speeding tickets in the past week.
Lowe summoned Ryan Mitchell, 33, of Bucksport on a charge of speeding Oct. 21. Mitchell had allegedly been traveling 64 miles per hour in a 45-mph zone.
Lowe summoned Jessica Ladd, 51, of Orland on a charge of speeding Oct. 22. There was no word on Ladd’s alleged speed.
Police summoned Sarah Sockbeson, 34, of Kingfield on a charge of speeding Oct. 25.
On Oct. 25, Officer Robert Findlay summoned Michelle Webber, 29, of Blue Hill on a charge of speeding 64 mph in a 45-mph zone.
On Friday, Findlay summoned Austin Snow, 17, of Blue Hill on a charge of speeding. Snow was allegedly traveling 67 mph in a 45-mph zone, police said.
Safety outreach
Officers helped the Miles Lane School conduct a school lockdown drill to practice safety Oct. 25.
