Bucksport Police Log Week of Aug. 16

ELLSWORTH — Bucksport police investigated an unattended death aboard a cruise ship docked in the harbor Aug. 5.

Sgt. David Winchester said a cruise ship passenger, 86, from Massachusetts had died of natural causes.


Police arrested Todd Morris, 49, of Bucksport on a charge of aggravated assault Saturday.

On Sunday, police arrested Adam Grindle, 37, of Orland on a warrant.


Officer Matt Schmidt summoned Melanie Gallant, 44, of Orland on a charge of operating after suspension Aug. 6.

Officer Gerald Lowe summoned Angelica Boeve, 27, of Rochester, Minn., on a charge of speeding Aug. 6.

On Aug. 6, Winchester summoned Steve Kane Jr., 26, of Bucksport on a charge of operating after suspension.


Officer Robert Findlay is investigating a residential break-in that was reported Aug. 8.

Neighbor problems

Bucksport police took a few calls last week from residents reporting issues or concerns about their neighbors including:

  • a neighbor using the complainant’s fence.
  • a neighbor vandalizing a child’s stroller.
  • a resident reporting that his or her neighbor just left in an unregistered motor vehicle.

None of the incidents resulted in charges.
