BUCKSPORT — Police charged a motorist with impaired driving Feb. 8.
Officer Chris Woodman arrested Walter Binger, 34, of Brooklin on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant. Woodman was released on bail at the police station.
A Bucksport woman reported Feb. 8 that someone stole $1,000 from her residence. Officer Steve Bishop is investigating.
A Newport woman was charged after she allegedly stayed at a local motel room and left without paying, Detective Sgt. David Winchester reported.
Bishop summoned Jasmine L. Franco, 34, on a charge of theft of services Jan. 31. Winchester said the motel bill totaled $350.
A store reported a shoplifter Feb. 8. Bishop summoned Maggie Hopkins, 24, of Bucksport on a charge of theft.
A Bucksmills Road resident reported a prowler just before 11 p.m. on Jan. 29.
Winchester said police didn’t find anyone but they did see a trail of footprints in the woods next to the house. However, it isn’t known if the footprints had been made that evening.
Police summoned Arthur Maguire, 43, of Bucksport on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia Jan. 29.
A woman called police for help Friday after her daughter, 17, refused to go to school.
Police got a call about a goose on the loose on Route 46 Saturday.
Shortly afterward, another caller reported a horse in the middle of the roadway of Route 46. However, the owner retrieved the animal before police had a chance to respond.
A golden retriever was found wandering down Broadway Sunday. He was taken in for safekeeping until his owner could be found.
