Bucksport Police Log Week of Dec. 28



BUCKSPORT — Shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Dec. 25, Officer Chris Woodman arrested Monica Johnson, 38, of Ellsworth on Mercer Lane on a charge of domestic violence assault, police said.

Arrests

On Dec. 23, police responded to a report of a vehicle found off the road on Millvale Road. As a result of the investigation, Woodman arrested Deric Ireland, 27, of Bucksport later that day on Central Street, police said. According to police, Ireland was charged with operating under the influence and operating after suspension.

On Dec. 24, Woodman arrested Brianna Smith, 26, of Ellsworth on Route 46 on a charge of operating under the influence, police said.

Accidents

According to police, Joseph Mann, 20, of Bucksport was backing out of a parking space at Dunkin’ Donuts on Dec. 18 when he collided with a vehicle driven by Brittney Dewitt, 17, of Bucksport, causing $1,500 to $2,000 worth of total damage.

Police said Chase Davidson, 21, of Linfield, Mass., was driving north on Mast Hill Road on Dec. 20 when, due to the icy, slick roads, he left the roadway and struck a tree, causing $2,500 in damage to his vehicle.

Due to icy, slick road conditions, three motorists left the roadway in three separate incidents on River Road on Dec. 23, police said.

According to police, Olivia Burns, 18, of Orland left the roadway at around noon and drove into a ditch, causing over $1,000 in damage to her vehicle.

Police said Justin Bartlett, 36, of Orrington left the roadway shortly before 6 p.m., causing $4,000 in damage to his vehicle.

About three hours later, according to police, Billie Sahl, 44, of Bucksport left the roadway after hitting some black ice, causing under $1,000 in damage to the vehicle.

Helping someone home

In the midst of bad weather on the evening of Dec. 22, Officer Ryan Welch drove a teenager home from a local convenience store where the teen worked, police said. “That happens a lot,” said Detective Sgt. David Winchester, about driving pedestrians home. “Not just here; I think law enforcement everywhere does that a lot.”

Theft

On Dec. 20, police received a report of a theft of approximately $700 worth of jewelry from a residence off Route 15, police said. Officer Robert Findlay is investigating the incident.

Car-deer accidents

According to police, Bruce Gray, 52, of Orland was driving on Mast Hill Road on Dec. 18 when he struck a deer, causing $350 worth of damage to his vehicle.

Police said Terri Elden, 45, of Bucksport was driving south on River Road on Dec. 20 when he struck a deer, causing over $1,000 damage to his vehicle.

Summonses

Konnar Kirlin, 20, of Bradford, was summoned on Main Street on Dec. 18 on a charge of failure to produce evidence of insurance, police said.

Shawn Gray, 26, of Deer Isle was summoned on Main Street on Dec. 21 on a charge of speeding, police said. His speed at the time was unavailable.

Natasha Holyoke, 26, of Bucksport was summoned on School Street on Dec. 25 on a charge of operating after suspension, police said.
