Bucksport Police Log Week of Dec. 21

BUCKSPORT — On Dec. 10, police received a report of an assault at a residence on Bucksmills Road. As a result of their investigation, police summoned Juan Maldonado Cruz, 29, of Bucksport on a charge of assault.

Self-inflicted wound

A 22-year-old man was transported to a hospital after accidentally shooting himself in the hand with a Glock pistol on Wickett Farm Road on Dec. 12, police said.


Police said Alan Brown, 54, of Verona Island was driving south on River Road on Dec. 12 when he slid off the road due to icy and slushy conditions. Police said Brown struck a guardrail, re-entered the road, crossed the centerline and struck a vehicle driven by Thomas Rushmore, 60, of Orrington. Brown’s vehicle sustained $2,500 in damage, while Rushmore’s sustained $1,800 in damage, police said.

Bank fraud

Police are investigating a report of unauthorized activity on an account with a local bank, police said. The activity affected over $1,000 worth of funds in the account, police said.


On Dec. 16, police arrested Cody Ames, 32, of Bucksport on Noel Way on a warrant for failure to appear in court, police said.
