Bucksport man dies following car crash

BUCKSPORT — A local man died over the weekend following a middle-of-the-night car crash the week before.

Charles H. Kimball, 53, of Bucksport died June 15 as the result of a crash on Bucksmills Road seven days earlier in which the vehicle he was traveling in collided with a utility pole.

According to Bucksport police, they responded to a crash scene on that road around 12:15 a.m. June 8 and saw the utility pole lying across an embankment.

Officers also found Kimball trapped inside a 1998 Toyota pickup truck. A Jaws of Life unit was called to the scene, and he was eventually taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

Police said this week that the cause of the crash remains under investigation. A cause of death has not yet been determined.
